
Today is Blue Rapids Arbor Day. The 4th graders celebrated this special day by helping plant a new tree on the square. Students also enjoyed a scavenger hunt looking for different kinds of leaves.









Trevor and Addelynn asked for extra work. Mrs. Erickson had them help with her bulletin board (check out the background in the picture). She also awarded them with VHS tickets for volunteering to help. Way to go Trevor and Addelynn!

Mrs. Meadows' class experimented with airheads to learn about the rock cycle. Everyone enjoyed watching their rock turn into lava!











Miss Bruna's class did a fun science project were they used airheads to learn the phases of a rock. The students had a great time and enjoyed Mr.Spoonts participation and assistance in the project.











Mrs. Hogan caught sweet Arleth in action. She was helping and encouraging a classmate during their library time. Awesome Arleth!

Valley Heights is partnering with the Marshall County Health Dept to provide Flu Shots and other vaccinations to student's and staff. This optional service will be available to Elementary Students and Staff on Thursday, October 10, and Jr/Sr High Students and Staff on Thursday, October 17. Consent forms will be sent home with Elementary students. Jr/Sr High Students can get a consent form from the office.

Today was Custodian Appreciation Day and Miss Bruna's class wrote little notes thanking Jaqi Woodyard for helping keep our classroom and school clean. The students were excited to give her the notes this afternoon.

Math was the key subject today. Mrs. Meadows had a group working hard on their math assignment. Way to go Laura, Harper, Dirk, Zoey, Beckett and Luke!

Miss Bruna observed Anya, Piper, Quinn and Aurora working well together in their group study. This earned them each a VHS ticket by valuing others. Great job girls!
