Mrs.@Miranda Woodyard’s 2nd grade learned to be responsible for their thoughts and to be respectful! We practiced positive words while looking in the mirror and saying them to others. Positive words build confidence and self-esteem. We will be respectful to ourselves and others.







NOTICE: There will be a Board of Education Work Session on Monday, October 27th at 5:00 p.m. The Work Session will be held at the Valley Heights District Office. This Work Session is a Special Meeting and is open to the public. The purpose of the session will be to discuss and review the Capital Outlay Long-Term Plan, DCS Facilities Assessment, ideas and thoughts on a future bond project, and the timeline of a bond proposal should the Board choose to move forward with that process.
The second grade class traveled to the Discovery Center in Manhattan last week. They also had lunch and played in the Manhattan City Park. It was a great day. We even got a compliment that the students were well behaved!

October is STOP BULLYING MONTH. It takes everyone to SPEAK UP, REACH OUT. BE A FRIEND to STOP to spread kindness and STOP BULLYING.

Each school day, millions of children ride school buses. Did you know that the school bus is one of the safest vehicles on the road? Less than 1% of all traffic fatalities involve children on school transportation vehicles. However, children are more at risk when approaching or leaving a school bus. It’s important for all drivers, as well as parents and students, to understand school bus safety.

Mrs. Reinecke's class enjoyed doing concentric art using leaves and creating spider webs that sparkle! Not only did the students learn about the importance of patience, but they were able to use their creativity. The final results are pictured and hanging in the halls.










JH Volleyball will be in action at Blue Valley in the BVL Tournament! The Mustangs open up play at 5:00 PM vs Blue Valley.

Good luck to the Lady Mustangs competing in the 2A #3 Regional at Hillsboro! The top two teams from this quad advance to Sub-State! Games begin at 4:00 PM!
