FFA Members and staff had all hands on deck yesterday hosting the Kansas Northeast District FFA Speech, Employment and Agronomy contests for 30 FFA Chapters and 260+ students for the day! We received many complements about our school and FFA members throughout the day from advisors and judges. We couldn't have done it without all of our wonderful help!!
Now to the good stuff... We had 11 FFA Members (who couldn't all be in one place at the same time for a picture 🤣) Competing in various events throughout the day, 8 of which received a medal!! VH FFA Also received 2nd place all around chapter with the combined team scores.

Congratulations to Lexi, Zaiden, Edison, Easton, Rainaa, Aurora, Twila and Eric for being the top eight in the Spelling Bee preliminary. Zaiden, Edison, Easton, Rainaa, Aurora and Twila will be attending the Marshall County Spelling Bee in Marysville on February 5th. In case of any of them being absent, Lexi and/or Eric will attend in their place. Good luck to all!

The HS boys game is still on for tonight. The boys will be playing at Washington County at 6:30 pm. Go Mustangs!
Here is the updated bracket for the BVL Tournament. The boys will open tournament play on Thursday, January 29, against Washington at 4:45 p.m. in Clyde. The girls will open up play on Saturday, January 31, against the winner of CC and BV at 1:00 pm at Clyde.
Districts FBLA at Republic County on Monday has been postponed to Thursday.
Due to extreme cold wind chills expected tomorrow morning and into the early afternoon, school will be cancelled tomorrow for Unified School District 498.

Lady Mustangs with a tough loss to Hanover - 62-26.
In an attempt to get all the games in quickly today, the TVL tournament will be running ahead of schedule. There will be a shortened warmup and halftime for games. We advise getting to the gym before the scheduled tipoff time, so you don't miss any action.
A successful Professional Development day on Monday, powerlifting competitions, a special guest at FCA, the TVL tournament in full swing and the BVL tournament coming up, 10th Graders visiting Highland Community Center, fun in science class and much more.
