Red Ribbon Week started in 1985 with the loss of one of the Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents, Kiki Camarena. In October, our Marshall County Sheriff's Department participates by spreading awareness about the dangers of drug use and promoting a drug free lifestyle. One of the ways is providing t-shirts for the grade school students with a message of promoting drug awareness. Pictured are some of the Blue Rapids 4th graders proudly wearing their shirts. Thank you Sheriff Ackerman and your Deputies for all you do for Marshall County!
